A non sewer learning to quilt!

A lovely lady offered to teach me and so that combined with my desire for shabby chic ditsy floral prints and colours I headed off to John Lewis department store in WGC Hertfordshire and returned home with a colourful array of Cath Kidston and other fabrics.

Its been almost 3 months and Now I just have some embroidery to do and the overall border.

I've learnt how to thread and use a sewing machine, how to hand sew and carry out some basic embroidery stitches and have mastered machining straight seams. I'm overjoyed! so proud too. Cant wait to update with more recent pics.

I love also how I knew nothing of sewing or what to do with any part of it, so it just goes to show, it doesnt matter if you weren't taught anything like this as a child or at school, you can learn anything at any time in life!
