New gym bag...

My son has had a multitude of gym bags for school in his 3 yrs there, none of which seem to last. So I took it upon myself to make him one. Chose 3 boyish looking fabrics to combine for the front and made a sort of ribbon out of one of the fabrics to stitch inbetween the bottom two sections. It's now complete after a mere couple of hours work. Am very pleased with it.

I doubled up a thick piece of ribbon on the back to make a very strong hanging-hook. The back of the bag is made entirely in the stripe fabric shown here at the top of the front.

Pattern comes from book titled 'Sewing In No Time' by Emma Hardy.

I hope it stands the test of time....
